Publication “Challenges in addressing the illicit drugs problems in the context of withdrawal of international forces from Afghanistan in 2014”
This publication represents a compilation of materials of the international seminar “Challenges in Addressing the Illicit Drugs Problems in the Context of Withdrawal of International Forces from Afghanistan in 2014”, which was organized by the United Nations Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) jointly with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and with support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on 23-24 April, 2013 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
The event brought together representatives of institutes of strategic studies and governmental bodies of Central Asian states, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Russia and the US. Other relevant UN entities, the EU, CSTO, SCO, CARICC, OSCE and well-known independent experts took part in the seminar.
The publication is expected to be of interest to diplomats, state officials, academic circles and political analysts of Central Asian states and the international expert community that follows up on developments in the region.
